We had a very successful community day planting 4 trees on one of the verges at Chaundler Road, Abbotts Barton. Thank you everyone who helped including several local children from the local cub group. The 4 trees were supplied by the Hampshire Forest Partnership and Winchester City Council supported the planting of the 2 Rowans and 2 Crab Apples. We will continue to manage the other verge as a wildflower verge as it has a great biodiversity of flora. The planting of trees on this verge will be more beneficial for wildlife than the dominance of grass which remained on it. We look forward to watering in and watching these trees grow. In the new year we will be helping Winchester Football Club to plant more trees.
